THERE aren’t many people better placed to rumble a taxi scam than a cabbie.
And AMY WINEHOUSE’s dad MITCH did just that when he spotted her hangers-on booking cars from her account – without her permission.

Now the cabbie plans to get rid of these “pals” by taking more control of Wino’s finances.

A pal revealed: “Mitch learned some of Amy’s hangers-on have taken liberties by using taxis when they shouldn’t. He’s not happy about it and has vowed to get them out of her life.”

The pressure of looking after his daughter has already taken its toll on his health. He collapsed two weeks ago and his doctor is keeping a close eye on him.

And things are still no better for Amy – she’s been prescribed antibiotic Suprax, given to treat nasty infections.

I asked Sun doctor Carol Cooper to explain. She said: “It’s a common antibiotic. Junkies often need them because their immune system’s weak.”

On a more light-hearted front, Amy was the winning entry in the Vegetable Figure section at this year’s Lambeth Country Show.

A potato and aubergine figurine was given first place by Lambeth Horticultural Society judges.

Beats a Grammy any day . . .
