LILY ALLEN was given the thumbs up to adopt her new four-year-old mongrel — though a 60-something inspector from Battersea Dogs Home had no idea who she was.

The singer was checked out to see if she would be a suitable owner.

Asked what she did for a living, Lily said: “I’m a singer.” She was then asked what kind of singer and said: “Erm, a pop star.”

The inspector said he was far too old and had never heard of her — but thought she was a very nice girl.

He then left with autographs for his grandkids.

I hope Lily signed them Leona Lewis.
