AMY WINEHOUSE will take a break from touring to start work on her next album, says dad MITCH.

The troubled star, who was hospitalised last month after collapsing at her home, will finish her festival stint at Bestival in September before opting for a time-out.

Performances at NELSON MANDELA's birthday gig, Glastonbury and T in the Park suggested the singer was back on track, but it seems five summer apperances have tired the skinnie minnie out.

Amy has confirmed she will still play the Isle of Wight's forthcoming event, but will avoid any further live shows to concentrate on making a full recovery.

Mitch said: "From September 6 we are not going to be doing any more work for the forseeable future. Amy will be concentrating on writing for the new album.

"She has five gigs that she is contractually obliged to do but Amy feels, and I feel, and the record company feel that is enough live performing for the time being.

"We want her to relax."
