MADONNA and her husband GUY RITCHIE may split, according to new reports.

The couple have been married for seven years, but are now alleged to be openly discussing divorce.

The relationship between the singer and her film director hubby has been beset with troubles, with intense speculation recently about when the announcement of a split would come.

They tried to put on a show of 'togetherness' at Cannes Film Festival last month, but photos showed them looking pained and distracted.

Madge has previously said in an MTV documentary that she "got married for all the wrong reasons".

She added: "My husband did not turn out to be everything I imagined him to be.. I wanted to end everything."

A friend of the couple told a newspaper that the two "live like brother and sister rather than husband and wife, and thought it best to call it a day".

Madonna's current world tour ends on November 29 and the split could be formalised after that.

The couple have biological son ROCCO, adopted baby DAVID and LOURDES, Madonna's daughter from her previous relationship with CARLOS LEON.
