HOLBY City’s new star Patsy Kensit has filmed her first scenes for the hospital drama . . . in

DUBAI.

BBC1 bosses spent thousands whisking the ex-Emmerdale actress to the swanky Arab state in a secret operation.

They wanted to keep the purpose of the shoot under wraps.

But TV Biz can reveal it was to film flashback scenes to shed light on the mysterious past of Patsy’s character, nurse Faye Morthon. It turns out Faye already knows doctors Jac Naylor (Rosie Marcel) and Joseph Byrne (Luke Roberts) before showing up at Holby.

The trio were flown to sunny Dubai ? famed for its fabulously wealthy sheiks ? while the rest of the cast stayed in gloomy Elstree, Herts.

Patsy, 38, has done two weeks’ work experience in a real hospital, including bedpan changing, to prepare for the role.

She makes her debut on January 30 and the Dubai scenes will be shown in March. An insider said: “Faye brings a lot of baggage with her. She has a secret past and it involves Jac and Joseph, who aren’t too pleased to see her. It will all become clear when we show the flashbacks.”
