X FACTOR winner LEONA LEWIS was one of the biggest hits of the night — wowing the crowd with her No1 single Bleeding Love.

Leona, 23, said: “When I was younger my auntie and grandmother used to tell me stories about this incredible, wonderful, great man — NELSON MANDELA.

“We used to sing songs about him. It’s incredible to sing here, I feel so honoured.”

Hollywood star WILL SMITH, 39, also went down a storm when he launched into a rap.

He told the audience: “I’m supposed to be hosting but I keep hearing the cheers of this crowd. I’ve got to get a little taste for myself.”

Cheeky
ANNIE LENNOX, 53, joined him in a t-shirt reading “HIV Positive”.

In a speech on HIV and Aids, she said: “We must do something to prevent a virtual genocide.”

Stars like STEPHEN FRY, 50, and GERI HALLIWELL also introduced acts.

The former SPICE GIRL, 35, cheekily said on stage: “Nelson, we met ten years ago — you still look good.”

Ex-bandmate VICTORIA BECKHAM, 34, sent a video message from LA and was BOOED.

But footie star hubby DAVID, 33, was cheered.

PRINCE WILLIAM’s girlfriend KATE MIDDLETON, 26, was in the audience.
