CHARLOTTE Church’s baby daughter was christened in a small family ceremony today.

Nine-month-old Ruby Megan Henson, her first child with rugby player Gavin Henson, was taken to St Mary of the Angels Church in Cardiff in a carry-cot covered with a white blanket.

Henson, wearing a navy suit, and pregnant Church, in a cream coat, arrived separately at the Roman Catholic Church in Kings Road, in the upmarket Pontcanna area of the city.


Security

They were accompanied by close friends and family, who arrived in three cars with blacked out windows at 1.30pm.

During the 40-minute service seven security guards stood outside its doors.

The couple are believed to have done a magazine deal with pictures of the event.

Church, who last week announced she is expecting her second child, was one of the last to leave the building, with her mother Maria.

The family are believed to have gone from the christening to a party at the farmhouse Church and Henson share in St Brides Major.

Father Christopher Delaney, who christened baby Ruby in a stone font at the back of the church, said afterwards: "It was a really lovely service."

A handful of well-wishers gathered to watch the celebrities leave the church.
