HE'S played the Demon Barber of Fleet Street and mad-hatter Willy Wonka - but now it looks like JOHNNY DEPP will star as hellraiser TOMMY LEE.
The rocker is desperate for the Pirates of the Caribbean actor to play him in a movie based on MOTLEY CRUE's memoir The Dirt - as he thinks they share the same character traits.

Tommy said: "Johnny Depp would be my choice to play me. He's the best (actor) ever.

"We're working on the film, trying to find the right producers and director and all that sort of stuff."

The biopic is likely to be a cinematic rollercoaster, capturing Tommy's one-month marriage to ELAINE IRWIN BERGEN, his relationship with actress HEATHER LOCKLEAR, his hepatitis C diagnosis and prison sentence for kicking PAMELA ANDERSON while she was holding their son DYLAN.

I didn't know they were working on a movie about Tommy Lee. I would love to see Johnny Depp play Tommy Lee. It would be interesting to see how the character unfolds.
